As a Civilian, there are many different places that you can rob in each city. You can only rob locations within the current city. A warrant for your Arrest will be issued when you commit a Robbery and the Police will attempt to prevent you from completing the robbery.
Since Version 23, each robbery now has individual settings, minimum/maximum times, bonuses, chances, etc. Robberies closer to police activity have been made a bit easier, robberies further from police have been made a bit harder. The chance of immediately failing a robbery now depends on different factors.
There is now an alarm sound for robbery alarms. The alarm for a robbery location will no longer go off immediately. Cops are notified of the robbery only when the alarm goes off. The time before the robbery goes off depends on different factors. If a law enforcement agent gets close to you during a robbery, the alarm will go off immediately. The time you have to wait to complete the robbery is now variable, and yes you guessed it, depends on different factors!
The payout for all robberies now depends on the amount of cops and civilians on the server.
Any robbery can be started by using /robbery.
Casino Robberies
Each of the three Casinos in Las Venturas (The Four Dragons Casino, Caligulas Palace, and Redsands Casino) can be robbed. The Casino in San Fierro and Temple Casino in Los Santos can also be robbed. A robbery checkpoint will indicate the Robbery Mission location. Once you complete the robbery inside the Casino, you will have to bring the safe to a randomly selected hideout to be cracked and receive your money. A casino robbery is only complete once you reach your hideout. Losing the Police before reaching your hideout will lower your wanted level.
Type /robbery while standing in the Robbery Checkpoint in a Casino to begin a Casino Robbery Mission.
Bank Robberies
Each of the three city Banks (Las Venturas, San Fierro, Los Santos) can be Robbed. Once you complete the Robbery inside the Bank, you will have to bring the safe to a randomly selected hideout to be cracked and receive your money. A bank robbery is only complete once you reach your hideout. Losing the Police before reaching your hideout will lower your wanted level. Bank Robberies take money away from other players accounts, so be careful! Banks are now closed during a robbery, and for a while after a robbery.
Type /bankrob while standing in the Robbery Checkpoint in a Bank to begin a Bank Robbery Mission.
CrazyBob's Place Robberies
You can rob CrazyBob's Safe at his place near Mulholland, not that you would want to :P A Checkpoint will indicate the Robbery location inside CrazyBob's Place. Once you complete the robbery inside, you will have to bring the safe to a randomly selected hideout, where it will be cracked and you will receive your money. The Robbery is only complete once you reach your hideout. Losing the Police before reaching your hideout will lower your wanted level. Stealing money from CrazyBob will result in a ban. (just kidding!)
Type /robbery while standing in the Robbery Checkpoint in CrazyBob's House to begin a Robbery.

Special Robberies
San Fierro Federal Mint
The San Andreas Federal Mint, located in San Fierro, can be robbed. A Checkpoint will indicate the Robbery location inside the Mint. Once you complete the Robbery inside the Mint, you will have to bring the safe to a randomly selected hideout, where it will be cracked and you will receive your money. A Mint Robbery is only complete once you reach your hideout. Losing the Police before reaching your hideout will lower your wanted level.

Las Venturas Methylamine Robbery
The Methylamine Robbery takes place at K.A.C.C. Fuels in LV. You have to find the methylamine barrel in the warehouse. Bring the barrel to your vehicle and reach the hideout before the time runs out!
Holdups
You can Rob Restaurants, Diners, Bars, Dance Clubs, Sex Shops, Inside Track Betting, Ammunations, and Clothes stores in the current city being played. You have to be looking at a store clerk to begin a holdup. Watch out, store clerks will attempt to defend themselves! The store being robbed will be closed during a holdup and for a short time after a holdup.

Crowbar
The Crowbar is a clothing item which you can purchase from any Truck Stop or Zero's RC Shop in Garcia (SF). Holding your Crowbar (/clotheswear) will lower your robbery time (robberies & holdups) and increase your chance of a successful robbery. You can also use /crowbar to quickly take out or put away your crowbar.
Any Crowbars you own will be removed when you are sent to jail.
Shoplifting
Type /shoplift at a shop/business checkpoint to attempt to steal an item.
You can steal real items from the shops' inventories.
